I was really in a pink mode.
and very full of embelishments. Flowers from prima and vintage silks, spritzed with glimmer mist, that I found at a yardsale. Antique lace, dew drops and lots of chalk ink. I used glossy accents to get the wet look for the wings and the rain drops.

I have been coing to so many crops lately. Last weekend I was at th Jobie crop in Vegas. i got are you ready?? 26 pages done...can you believe it? I am still in shock. I had such a good time with those ladies. I had forgoten how much fun it could be to just sit down and create something. Usually I am at my desk until the wee hours making somthing on the weekend. It is differnt when you are with a group of wonderful women. The conversations, the giggling, the crafting, and don't forget great food. Thank you so much for including me.

For everyone to far from us to join us at a crop, grab a girlfriend and just spend an afternoon together being friends. I know it will make your day brighter.

You are not going to believe this, but this is actually a 16x20 canvas. I plan on putting a picture in the oval. these make the best gifts. It is like ready hang art. We had our first craft show this weekend. It was a lot of work, but so much fun.

I got a little carried away with this sketch. I made into a 12x12 scrapbook page. It just seemed like the perfect sketch. I have actually bene inspired to make 3 more lay outs based on this sketch. Some times you just get on a roll. Check back later this week for the rest of the pages.

Hey Midnight madness Design team is in rare form this week. Wow those are some beautiful cards.

Mine is made using the most unique stamp from DRS. It is called stained glass. They have many more shapes and sizes. I will definately be doing a tutorial on this one in the near future. I stamped the stained glass in black ink and stamped an other stamp on top (I did the butterfly in grey for more contrast). I colored with Copics, higlighted they butterfly, also DRS, with glossy accents and here ya go.

It is my birthday today so my family has grounded me from the computer. Have a great day eveyone. Smile, 'cause its my birthday, its my birthday.

Look at these cute little butterflies. They are the DRS medium butterfly stamp. I stamped them on shrink plastic with staz-on, and colored with pencil. Cut them out and shrink them up with the heat gun. They are so cute! Thank you DRS

I just can't get enough purple. This terrific stamp from DRS is a frame stamp the has 7 frames all in one stamp. I stamped & embossed the frame on 4 different colors of purple, then cut and layered them up. I will get some more pictures up this week, so you can see all of the embossing. I just love to stamp on trash. I mean that hard plastic that seems to cover everything you buy. I cut out the parts that are flat and save them for projects like this. How green is that? I use this great stamp with vintage Christmas ornaments from DRS designs. I cut the square out in the middle so you are actually lookng thru the card. First I stampes the image with stazon on the front, and then colored the ornaments using my Copics on the back. Copics work great on anything, even plastic. I took a little liberty with the sketch to get my peek-a-boo look to work. That is what using sketches is about inspiring you, this is how the sketch inspired me.

this is a great design. I tweaked it a little and used circles instead of squares. You don't always have to follow the receipe exactly to get a good taste. I have a habbit of adding a little of this and that until it tastes just right. I apply the same techniques to crafting.

I used my Copics again. I even used them to color the the piece of ribbon under the phrase. I did'nt have a thing to match. I know I should be ashamed of myself, I should have ribbon of every color. Here is a very thrift trick, You never thought you'd hear me say thrifty, huh?Copics color everyting, so if you don't have a matching embelishment, color a white or cream one to match perfectly.

Here it is. The newest Midnight Madness challenge. This is such a fun way to use up stuff you have. It is so nice to follow a recipe. I used some regular clip art from microsoft and my Copics. Cute little sprit, huh?

I was MIA last week. My daddy ended up having open heart Surgery that Friday. I was juggling lots of things and that is the ball that dropped. I did make the card, Just didn't get a chance to post it. I will post it this week anlong with the blog candy at the end of the week. Sorry for the delay. I know you understand. Daddy was sent home on Friday, just in time to spend the weekend at home. He is tired but doing well. Thanks for the kind thoughts and prayers.

I really do find the Copics easy to use. It maybe it is because I spend a lot of time with my colored pencils & mineral spirits, blending until my fingers are numb. The fumes may have gotten to me.

I will be taking the Copic certification class at the end of the month. I can't wait to put that little button on this blog. I am going to Chino for the class. I had no luck convincing them to come to Vegas for me.

Really the only lessons I've had with them are on the web. I kind of took what I thought was the best of all of them and then gave it a shot. I need to tweak a few things. I really like mu first attempt-the blue bombshell. It did take about 2 hours. Not bad for a first try. Not good when my hubby pointed out it will probably sell for $5 on eBay this week. I don't sell them to make $$$$ just to justify my craft addiction. You know if I make $5, I feel perfectly justified in spending $20.

Speaking of price, I know they are expensive. I have to have the brush tipped sketch, they are refillable, your can air brush with them and they color on anything. I couldn't ask for more. Well except if they could put theselves away when I finish with them.

I addicted to Marianne and all the other Copic Diva's tutorials. My idol and paper craft goddess, Lauren Meader, has a different take on them. I like her easy going have fun with is style. I also read everything from Ellen Hutson's and her faboo design team.

COLOR THROWDOWN CHALLENGE #36

This is for my first color throwdown challange. You can play too. Just click here. This is fun, fun fun.

The ladies who take my classes laugh because I save all of that obnoxious plastic packaging and save it for projects like this. I used a sheet of clear plastic, stamped the image with stazon black, and applied art glitter and glue from the Original Glitter Queen, Barbara Trombley to the back of the clear plastic. So very easy, you've got to give it a try.

BTW her website has tons of great info and lots of tutorials. Ask your local craft store to get her products. They are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. One jar lasts forever and is the sparkliest ever. The hardest part is deciding which colors to get.

A friend sent this to me today and I had to share it with you.

We all know or knew someone like this!!
One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday?He must really be a nerd.' I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives.' He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!' There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived.

As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends. He said yes.We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him. Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday! 'He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors we began to think about college.Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak . Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous! Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be great!' He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled.' Thanks,' he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began: 'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends...I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story. 'I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.'Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable. 'I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize it's depth.

Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. For better or for worse.God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way. Look for God in others.

Isn't acryic great? This was so much fun. I can't wait to teach it to you. This storybook cartridge has such pretty florishes and frames. It is instantly a new favorite of mine.

these were so much fun to make. they would be perfect for any gift. they are actually vases filled with a string of Christmas lights. the pictures of them lit up did not turn out. i put vellum behind the cut outs to give a frost glow.

I am back on the road to being healthy. I'm feeling much better, lots more energy. Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes i truly appreciate them.

Now here is what I've been up to. My cousin/little sister got married this month. Yeah!!

Here are a couple of the gifts I made. I got the idea for the gift card wallet fron someones blog, but I can't find it. my apologies. I got the idea for the exploding stationary box from a hallmark stationary box with no explosion.

these little paint cans are so cute. I have a template for this with and without using the Cricut. of course, I had to use the P on top of the can newlywed that I am. I glued down the votive candle so it would be a great gift item. The other survival needs are in a baggie just for laughs. My personal favorite are the marbles-I'm always losing mine. I'm sure Tony would say it's the two cents, I always have an opinion.
